JACK ORMAN (Executive Producer)
The 2000/2001 season marks Jack Orman's fourth year as a writer/producer on "ER" and his first as the show runner. In 1995, Orman received his first offer as a freelance writer for hire, an episode of "JAG." Orman's work on that script was so well received that shortly thereafter, he was hired as a staff writer. Within half a season, Paramount Television made him a co-producer on the show. The following year, Orman was lured away from "JAG," which had become a hit for CBS, to become a writer/producer on "ER." Three years later, he now serves as executive producer.
During his tenure on "ER," Orman and his fellow producers have received two Emmy Award nominations, three People's Choice Awards and several other industry commendations. Last season, Orman wrote the episode "All in the Family," which received the highest ratings for a television episode since the "Seinfeld" series finale.
Orman grew up in Paradise Valley, Arizona, earned his bachelor's degree in communications (film) from Loyola Marymount University and produced an international documentary throughout Asia before earning a master of fine arts degree from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program. He lives in Studio City with his wife, Lisa, and their two young sons.
