For his work as Dr. Mark Greene on "ER," Anthony Edwards has won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series; a 1998 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama; and a People's Choice Award as Favorite Male Television Performer in a New Series. He has also received four Emmy Award nominations for Lead Actor in a Drama Series and three nominations for Best Actor by Viewers for Quality Television.
Anthony Edwards left ER at the end of the 2001-2002 season when his character, Dr. Mark Greene died of brain cancer. Since then, Edwards has kept himself busy with a number of projects, including starring in such films as "Thunderbirds and The Forgotten". Edwards recently completed filming of David Fincher's "Zodiac", a film about the serial killer who tormented San Francisco in the 60's and 70's.
