Later in his career, Dalton became renowned for his portrayal of James Bond in The Living Daylights and License to Kill. Most recently he starred as infamous detective Allan Pinkerton in the western American Outlaws. His film credits include the family sci-fi adventure The Rocketeer, the title role in The Doctor and the Devils, as well as playing opposite Fran Drescher in the comedy The Beautician and the Beast. Prominent television appearances have included his roles as Rhett Butler in the miniseries Scarlett and Julius Caesar in Cleopatra. He also starred in mystery writer Lynda La Plante's Framed and Showtime's The Informant and Possessed. His Shakespearean training has been reflected on stage with notable English theatrical roles in Romeo & Juliet, Love's Labour's Lost, King Lear and The Taming of the Shrew. Dalton studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. This winter Dalton returns to the stage, where he can be seen at The National in His Dark Materials, to be directed by Nick Hytner. |
