My Opening Farewell

Original Airdate: October 6, 2003

Doc tries to deal with the tragic loss of Alex Taylor and Johnson. His emotions explode when, in a fit of anger, he confronts rookie paramedic Eugene Rossi (MICHAEL GLADIS), who was assigned to replace Taylor the day she died. Meanwhile, Kim tries to find out who the real Aaron Noble was--a famous writer and loving boyfriend or a drug addicted police informant?

Meanwhile, Yokas awakens from surgery to discover that she has lost feeling in the lower half of her body, hopefully only a temporary side effect from the bullet that's lodged next to her spine. Bad news for Yokas abounds as Cruz and Bosco are cleared of any wrongdoing by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Internal Affairs intends to blame everything on Yokas. In a desperate act, Bosco tries to bluff Cruz into clearing Yokas as well, claiming to have written records of all of Cruz's illegal procedures over the past year. Cruz believes Bosco's assertion, changes her story and exonerates Yokas. Despite this victory, old partners Bosco and Yokas have a lot of reconciling to do.

Doc's internal struggle continues to devastate him, as he is unable to speak at Taylor's funeral, after promising her mother, Beth Taylor (recurring guest star VERONICA HAMEL - "Hill Street Blues"), that he would.
